Jane and Tom Somerville generously open the doors of historic Drishane House to discerning diners. Drishane House was built by Thomas Somerville in about 1780 and successive generations of Somervilles have created a gracious, unique and timeless house containing portraits and memorabilia of a family stretching back over 300 years. Edith Somerville (the co-author, with Martin Ross, of the Irish R.M. stories) who spent almost all her life there, and loved it, has left a strong imprint on the house and gardens.
This unique opportunity to attend a formal dinner surrounded by stately grandeur is limited to 14 guests. Guests will be greeted with a champagne reception, followed by dinner with musical accompaniment, in the formal Georgian dining room where the walls are adorned with portraits of generations of Somervilles (including Edith). Carriages at 10.30 pm Formal dress (not Black Tie)
